TEV İNANÇ TÜRKEŞ PRIVATE HIGH SCHOOL
TEVITOL is the only high school in Turkey especially for gifted and talented students. It was founded by Sezai Turkes in 1993. It has been associated with TEV since 2001.
WHY THE GIFTED AND TALENTED's EDUCATION IS IMPORTANT ?
· Gifted and talented students are different from their peers.
· Gifted and talented students need different education to better themselves and their environment.
· Gifted and talented students are leaders who contribute to work, science, technology, art and service in a global community.
· Gifted and talented students may be happy when they realize and create themselves.
WHY TEVITOL ?
Defining a student as "gifted and talented" is not easy; we judge students not only by their success in traditional academic settings, but also through their potential success in arts, music, and athletics, as well as in non-traditional academic situations.
That’s why in TEVITOL, we meet the needs of these children by implementing a special educational model. Supporting children’s creativity, development, change, creativy and free thought is an open education.
SENSE OF EDUCATION IN TEVITOL
All students in TEVITOL live in dormitories and they receive education with some amount of scholarship. Every year, students selected through a special assessment exam. Education and training under the guidance of the Turkish and foreign teachers are countinuing. The Ministry of Education program at our school, as well as the International Baccalaureate program, is being implemented. The special talents of our students encourage them to move onto international platforms, and will determine the future of our country.
Our students’ skills, interests and multiple intelligences demonstrate the wide potential of each student. Our programs are created and tailored to our students' individual needs. In other words, our students are offered a variety of ways to develop their wide range of talents and skills.
VISION
Inanç is the only high school for gifted and talented youth in Turkey; it provides poor but exceptionally promising students with an unprecedented educational opportunity. With its combined focus on the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and the Turkish national curriculum, Inanç seeks to nurture the values of leadership, academic excellence, and community-awareness among all of its members
MISSION
We aim to realize our education vision according to these:
· To identify each student’s personal qualities and to develop them in positive ways
· To present an education that prepares students for the changing world and teaches them to make meaningful gains for world.
· To develop the students as future leaders who have a right to speak in national and international arenas.
· To produce students who think globally and produce national solutions
· To encourage students to use their talents for humanity's sake.
· Contribute to Turkey according to Ataturk’s principles for reaching modern civil society.
HISTORY
PERIOD OF INSTITUTE
The famous energetic businessman Sezai Türkeş founded a charitable foundation to special and gifted students and the charitable foundation’s name was his wifes’s name, Inanç. The charitable foundation İnanç Türkeş Private High School opened in 1993.
In 1994-1995, the school expanded to its current campus. After that, in January 1996 the building of campus stopped because of some economical reasons. In 1997,the school was in danger of closing due to changes in the Ministry's education requirements.
PERIOD OF TURKISH EDUCATION FOUNDATION
These problems finished with TEV’s support. TEV took over the school on the 10th of July 2002. The school is now called Turk Egitim Vakfı İnanç Türkeş Private High School (TEVITOL).
